Sometimes the biggest chasm that exists is between family members. God teaches us about his bridge building mentality through Jesus’ telling of the prodigal son. A boy goes off and wastes all his father gives him. At rock bottom, he decides to come home. Rather than his father being angry or frustrated, he throws a party. We should be eager to offer grace to those with whom we have a broken relationship and when it is restored, we should celebrate. Just like the father whose son was lost but came home to be found again.

relationship with one another. Many people seek ways to increase the expanse rather than
seeking ways to close the gap. We divide over all kinds of things. We split over politics, race,
religion and values just to name a few. Rather than embrace the schisms, we can be bridge
builders. We can be the kind of people who fight for unity and love others because of our
connection with and example of Jesus Christ.
